Your information

Privacy

Here is what SendTheLetter keeps, what other people can see, and how to ask us about your information.

Who to contact

SendTheLetter is operated by an individual. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@sendtheletters.xyz. Tell us which letter, frame, or report you mean, but do not send passwords or a private letter key.

Letters and visibility

Public Browse letters can be read, searched, copied, and shared by anyone. The letter text, names, title, design, and any included photos, stickers, background, or audio are stored so the site can display them.

Private-link letters are encrypted in your browser before the letter content is stored. The key is in the complete link and is not stored with the letter. Anyone with that link can read and copy the letter. We cannot recover a lost key or undo a copy someone has already made.

Search can reveal that a private letter exists for a name or code name. A private letter is not invisible simply because its contents are encrypted. If you report a private letter and choose to share a copy for review, the operator can read that separate copy. The private link and key are not sent with the report.

What we collect

We use this information to run the site, show letters and frames, answer requests, review concerns, and protect the service. We do not sell letter contents or use them to target ads.

Information on your device

Your browser can keep drafts, History links, private keys included in those links, saved stickers, frame drafts, display choices, and receipts. Other people with access to your device, browser profile, sync account, or exported data may be able to see them. Clearing browser storage removes those local copies but does not delete a letter already sent to the site.

The History duration controls how long a link remains in History on that device. It does not set a server deletion date for the letter.

Other services

Hosting and storage providers process data needed to operate the site. Music links and embedded players can connect you to Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube under their own privacy practices. Human verification and email delivery services may also process information needed for their features. We do not control those services' records. Open their policies before using their features if you want more detail.

How long information stays

Your choices and requests

You can choose Public Browse or a private link, skip optional media and email fields, manage local browser data, and ask us to review or remove hosted content. To request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy action, email privacy@sendtheletters.xyz. Give enough detail for us to locate the record and verify your connection to it. We may need more information before acting, especially when a request affects someone else's content or rights. Applicable privacy law may give you additional rights, including the right to raise a concern with the relevant regulator.

Security and children

We use encryption for private letter content, but no online service can promise perfect security. Protect your complete private link and avoid putting sensitive information in public letters. SendTheLetter is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child or another person is at risk, use Rights & reports and contact local emergency services when there is immediate danger.

Changes

We may update this page when the service changes. Significant updates will be announced on the site.
