Using the service

Terms of Service

These terms explain how to use SendTheLetter responsibly and what to expect from the service.

Using SendTheLetter

SendTheLetter lets you write and share letters, attach media, design and submit frames, and report concerns. By using it, you agree to these terms and the related Privacy and Rights & reports pages. Do not use the service if you are under 13. If you are older but still a minor, use it with the guidance required where you live.

Your content and permission

You keep ownership of original content you create. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permission needed to share every title, message, photo, sticker, background, frame, and audio upload. Do not upload someone else's work or personal information just because it is easy to find online. Giving credit is not a substitute for permission.

When you publish a letter, you allow us to store and display it as needed to provide the sharing option you chose. If you submit a frame for the public gallery, you allow us to store, review, display, and make it available for other people to use in letters while the frame is offered. You confirm that you can grant these permissions. You can ask us to review a removal request, but copies already saved by other people may remain.

What is not allowed

Do not use the site to threaten, harass, bully, stalk, impersonate, defraud, or expose someone. Do not share intimate content without permission, exploit children, encourage violence or self-harm, publish private information without a lawful basis, or upload material that infringes another person's rights. Do not use automated submissions, spam, malicious code, security testing without authorization, or attempts to bypass access limits or disrupt the service. Do not submit a report you know is false or use reports to pressure someone into removing lawful content.

These examples do not cover every harmful use. We may review and act on other content or behavior that creates a credible safety, legal, or service risk.

Public and private sharing

Public Browse letters can be found and copied by anyone. A private-link letter is encrypted in the browser before storage, but anyone with its complete link can read it. Keep that link safe. We cannot recover a lost key, prevent someone from saving what they see, or guarantee that a recipient will keep the letter confidential. A reporter can separately choose to share a readable copy of a private letter for review.

History is stored on the device you use. Choosing a shorter History duration removes the local link at the selected time. It does not delete the hosted letter.

Reports and moderation

We review reports before deciding whether to leave content available or remove it. Multiple reports do not prove a violation. We may also act when we learn of a credible safety issue, rights concern, legal requirement, or misuse of the service. We may ask for more information, close a report with no action, remove content, or restrict a feature. We cannot inspect a private letter unless a readable copy is voluntarily shared for review. See Rights & reports for the process and appeal contact.

Music and other services

Music links and players are provided through outside services such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Their availability, playback rules, and terms are set by them. Do not treat a link or embed as permission to upload someone else's recording. Hosting, verification, and email providers also help operate this site.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep the site available and secure, but features can change, stop, or have errors. Keep your own copy of important writing and private links. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage, recovery after deletion, or that every report will lead to removal. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the service changes. Significant changes will be made visible on the site. For service questions, use Support. For privacy, rights, or legal concerns, email privacy@sendtheletters.xyz.
