Content review
Rights & reports
Tell us about a safety, privacy, or rights concern. A report starts a review. It does not remove a letter automatically.
Report a letter
Open the letter and choose Report a concern. Select the closest reason and explain which part concerns you. The form offers harassment or bullying, threats or safety, private information, copyright or other rights, impersonation, and other concerns. An email address is optional. Save the private report code shown after submission so you can check the status on the Support page.
Describe facts you know and include context that helps us assess them. Do not send a complete private link, decryption key, password, or unrelated personal information.
Private-link letters
The operator cannot read the encrypted letter from its stored copy. When you report a private-link letter, you can choose to share a separate copy of its text and attached photos for review. The report form explains this choice before you send it. Without that copy, the operator cannot inspect the letter or take it down based on the report. The report can still be closed with no action.
Only share a copy if you are comfortable with the operator seeing it. The private link and key are not sent with that option. Do not assume a private letter is anonymous or that people who opened it cannot save their own copy.
How decisions work
Reports enter a private queue. A reviewer reads the description and any available evidence, then examines the public letter or a private copy that the reporter chose to share. A repeated-report count can prompt attention, but it does not prove a violation. We do not remove a letter just because someone asks us to.
- Pending means the report was received.
- Under review means a reviewer is examining it.
- No action means the available information did not support removal. The letter stays available.
- Taken down means the active server copy was removed after review. People may still have copies they saved earlier.
Reviewers can reopen a report closed with no action when new information warrants another look. We do not promise a fixed review time or a particular outcome.
Copyright, privacy, and other rights
If you believe your work or identity was used without permission, tell us which letter or frame is involved, identify the work or information at issue, explain your connection to it, and provide a safe contact method. A specific report helps us assess whether permission, an exception, or another person's rights may apply. Credit alone does not prove that an upload is authorized.
For privacy concerns, identify the personal information that should not be public and explain why. Do not repeat sensitive details unnecessarily in the report. For an urgent threat or immediate danger, contact local emergency services. This site is not an emergency response service.
Frames, review decisions, and appeals
For a frame or artwork concern, or if you believe a review decision was wrong, contact privacy@sendtheletters.xyz. Include the frame name, letter reference, or report reference and explain what should be reconsidered. Do not include a private key. We may ask for more detail or proof of authority. Removed content may not be recoverable, but we will assess the information you send.
Your information
To ask about your personal data, including access, correction, or deletion, see Privacy or email privacy@sendtheletters.xyz. We may need to verify that the record belongs to you before sharing or changing it.
